How to be safe when you drink alcohol
The most important point is to never drive while under the influence(DUI) at all, regardless of if you weigh 300 pounds and only had one drink. There are many factors that play into impairment such as medications, sleep, fatigue and emotional state. Any of these factors could multiply the impairment. But, most importantly, the risks are too high. DUI defense is expensive, it is cheaper to pay for a cab every single day of the year than to retain me. There is simply no point and you have too many options that are safer and cheaper.
If you are stuck, talk to the owner of the establishment. They have vouchers for cab rides or will pay for your taxi. You can ask them to find a Taxi that will take your credit card or have them call everyone on your cell phone that they can charge the cab fare to by credit card over the phone.
Also call all of your friends in your cell phone and find someone willing to call a cab company and pay for it over the phone by a credit card.
Although I defend DUI cases, my job is required by the constitution and my services are required to be provided to everyone. This is an area in which I try to have an impact on my clients and give them advice as to why they should avoid having to hire me and reasons not to put yourself at risk of getting a DUI in California. In a perfect world, my job would not exist, but it does and I always use my position to make the streets safer and make my clients safer through my advice.
Preventing a DUI arrest is easy and here are some ways to help guide you.
